Robert Newman For Governor
The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) is one of the responsibilities of the Secretary of State,
contribution limits.  Under these rules, individuals may contribute $6,500 per election to a state wide
candidate but as much as $25,900 per election to a gubernatorial candidate.  Political parties have no
contribution limits: the party endorses one candidate.  There are other large sources of revenue but the
point has now been made since none of these monies really represent the desires of the individual
voter, these large contributions therefore remain a potential distraction for an elected person. The words
of George Washington are fitting: “Few men have the virtue to withstand the highest bidder.” There are
so many ways to legally get around the intent of the people expressed in Prop 34.  However,
accountability and transparency are the desire of this candidate.

Therefore, a small campaign contribution of whatever amount is sincerely appreciated. “For where your
treasure is, their will your heart be also” (Matthew 6:21).  Contributions are acceptable from
any US
Citizen of voting age who wants to make a difference
in the future of California.  Contributions from
organizations, clubs, unions, associations, businesses, foreign governments and the like will be
returned.  The campaign committee treasurer reserves the right to return any contribution deemed
inappropriate.

Please restrain yourself by contributing $1,000 or less.  This is a real grassroots campaign and stands
on the principles of campaign reform: This candidate pledges solely to be answerable to the taxpayer.

You, the informed voter, make the decision: Are candidates influenced, after being elected, by the
demands and requests from large contributors?  Are individual taxpayers being disregarded and
slighted by their elected representatives?  Are you as a taxpayer ready to support a change in the
financing of candidates so the focus of the elected individual is on service to the people and not
misguided by the large contributions tied to special interests?

(Please take note of candidates who funnel large amounts of money into their own campaign.  Ask the
question:  Why would a candidate spend millions for a job which pays $240,000 annually?)
